Spent a week at Fairmont Hot Springs - a Five Star Resort in the East of British Columbia, on the warmer side of Canadian Rockies, with "healing" mineral water and innumerable golf courses. Few years ago, while in California, people were envying me when learned I have a timeshare at Fairmont Hot Springs - they had a hard time to get there due to incredible popularity of the Resort, especially in summer. (I was surprised by that - we fell in love with it in winter, which is beautiful there, my wife even learned ski on Fairmont Mountain) Times are somewhat different now. Although still popular, this gorgeous place isn't that crowded anymore. The reason? Along the common one - economy - the steep rise of maintenance fees, which is the only source of the income for the timeshare resort.
I was tasked with analyzing the Resort's operational efficiency. The analysis quickly uncovered that there is a huge potential in utilizing advantages of solar, geothermal and other alternative technologies to bring significant energy savings to the resort and show case it as a forward looking and environmentally conscious.
Stay tuned!
