AEMS on service for Canadian Coast Guard

After being tested by Transport Canada, our AEMS platform begins its next chapter. Our AEMS-COAST module has arrived at the Marine Technology Centre on Vancouver Island for a long-term deployment in support of the Canadian Coast Guard.

AEMS-COAST will further advance our vision of autonomous infrastructure by combining renewable energy, intelligent power management, communications, and modular mission capabilities into a resilient platform designed for unattended operation in remote maritime locations.

True Autonomy extends beyond perception and decision-making. It also requires intelligent energy management and continuous awareness of the surrounding environment.

Transport Canada Project Is Wrapping Up

Happy New Year! As 2025 has wrapped up, we are wrapping up our project with Transport Canada. 
It hasn’t been always wrinkle-free, and it shouldn't - that exactly what real-world testing is for. The year-long evaluation again validated the concept of Autonomous Environment Monitoring and Surveillance (AEMS) and the flexibility of its modular platform.
Multiple autonomous deployments in a single day, week after week - far beyond typical operational use - and the successful addition of autonomous UAV hosting, launch, retrieval, and charging proved the system’s adaptability and evolvability.
The lessons learned are already shaping the next generation of AEMS, which has now begun crystallizing, with applications for Canadian Coast Guard, Space-Terrestrial Communications and other missions, and clear dual-use relevance for defence, security, and remote operations. Stay tuned.
